TOPIC: : MAJOR SCALES
* Major Scales are the succession of notes forming the Solphege tones we know as Doh, Re, Mi, Fa ,La, Ti , Doh , Its like a musical staircase that can move up and down the staff at the composers L
* Major scales are the bright sounding scales ,That consist of Tone and Semitone steps as follows: ( T=TONE , S=SEMITONE ) T,T,S,TTTS
DEGREES OF A MAJOR SCALE in C major (as in all Major keys )
1th OR C is called the TONIC
2th OR D is called the SUPERTONIC
3th OR E is called the MEDIANT
4th OR F is called the SUBDOMINANT
5th OR G is called the DOMINANT
6th OR A is called the SUBMEDIANT
7th OR B is called the LEADING NOT
8th OR C is called the TONIC
MAJOR KEY SIGNATURES
There are 14 major Scales , but 13 with sharps and flats . Their Accidentals are placed at the beginning of a Staff to indicate that the performer should be careful to use the accidentals for the sharpened or flattened notes in that key .
* Its important to remember the order of Sharps and flats in writing major scales
